In 2018, Rendang was officially recognised as one of 5 national dishes of Indonesia.
With the unusual and tangy ingredients of amchur ( dried green mango), kafffir lime leaves, lemon grass, and lime zest, this is a very flavoursome dish. Add coconut milk, shrimp paste ( or fish sauce) , onion, garlic, galangal, turmeric and chilli flakes ( in a seperate packet) salt & sugar, and it will make your taste buds tingle.
Rendang originated in Sumatra. One of the earliest written records of rendang is from the early 16th century literary work. Rendang is traditionally prepared during festive occasions.

 

All dinner packs contain the correct amount of spices for a meal for four people and contain a shopping list and full recipe.  The chilli comes in a seperate pack for heat as desired.
