Chaat is a term describing savory snacks, typically served at road side stalls or chaat carts in South Asian cuisine, primarily in India and Bangladesh. The ingredients of Chaat Masala (spice mix), which contain amchur (dried green mango) and asafoeda and chilli powder among others, are combined and served on a small metal plate or banana leaf, dried and formed into a bowl.
Chaat masala is used to flavor a variety of appetizer-like foods, fruit salads, fresh fruit, or vegetable snacks and pappadams.
